Supplementary Social Assistance

Supplementary social assistance for children's hobby expenses can be applied for through Kela using the same application as for basic social assistance. Supplementary assistance can only be granted if basic social assistance has already been approved. In such cases, Kela can, upon request, forward your application to the Vantaa social services. We Deliver Fund

The We Deliver Fund, established in cooperation between the Finnish Basketball Association and PostNord, provides financial support to cover costs related to participation in sports. The support can be used, for example, for club season fees, basketball equipment, tournament travel costs, and training camps.

SOS Children’s Village – "Dreams Come True" Hobby Support

TikS is one of the partners in the SOS Children’s Village Dreams Come True program.

SOS Children’s Village provides financial support for children’s hobbies to families facing challenging life situations. The support is primarily targeted at children and young people aged 7–17 who would not otherwise be able to start or continue their hobby. The goal is to reduce inequality and social exclusion by enabling regular, guided hobby participation. Support is primarily granted based on applications submitted by school counsellors or family social workers, and where possible, also based on applications submitted directly by families.

Save the Children – Vantaa Chapter

Support from Save the Children is directed to children whose ability to continue studying or participate in hobbies is at risk due to the family’s financial difficulties or other social challenges. Applications are submitted to the local chapter of the organization.

Tukikummit – Church Diaconia Fund

Tukikummit grants financial assistance for immediate expenses related to studying, education, or hobbies. The grants are one-time and intended for individual families. Neither Finnish citizenship nor religious affiliation is required to receive support. To apply, you must contact the diaconal worker of your local parish. Hope ry

Hope ry provides children (ages 0–17) from low-income families the opportunity to try a new hobby or begin long-term participation in one. The organization also supports children in continuing existing hobbies. More information is available on the Hope ry website.

Valio Akatemia

The Valio Akatemia® program supports children’s and young people’s physical activity and well-being. Scholarships can be granted to anyone under 18 who practices or is interested in sports anywhere in Finland. Applications are accepted once a year. Minela Foundation

The Minela Foundation awards grants to support youth participation in sports and cultural hobbies, as well as activities that promote creativity, skills development, and inclusion. Grants can be applied for by clubs, associations, and sports organizations. The foundation may also support individual young people in financially challenging situations. Tukilinja

Tukilinja grants are intended for individuals with long-term physical or mental disabilities that make everyday life challenging. The grants are specifically targeted for hobby equipment. More information is available on the organization’s website.
